Iran Mercenaries Arrested in National Security Operation

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry arrested 39 individuals identified as Iran mercenaries. Authorities said foreign-backed terror groups recruited them to threaten national security. According to officials, 27 of the detainees belonged to two terrorist groups. One operative tried to establish an operational cell in Sistan and Baluchestan province. He planned to create insecurity using seized weapons, but security forces captured him before he could act.

Moreover, authorities confiscated a large arsenal of weapons and materials. They seized 49 handmade explosives, two AK-47 rifles, 16 handguns, 50 magazines, 1,500 cartridges, tear gas canisters, electric shock devices, Molotov cocktails, and bomb-making materials. The security forces also took seven Starlink satellite internet terminals.

Additionally, two operatives had been hired by Israel. They attempted to incite civil unrest on social media. Other detainees were tasked with reporting security force positions to enemy networks and to Iran International. This crackdown follows escalating regional tensions. On February 28, US and Israeli forces attacked Iran, killing several senior military commanders. Iran responded with missile strikes and drone attacks targeting US bases and Israeli positions in the occupied territories.

Security experts say uncovering these networks demonstrates Iran’s vigilance against internal and external threats. They also note that preventing attacks strengthens national security. The ministry confirmed it will continue intelligence and surveillance operations. It urged citizens to report suspicious activities to maintain stability. Analysts expect further operations to counter foreign-backed mercenary networks in the coming months.

Authorities emphasized that any attempts to undermine Iran’s security will face swift consequences. Officials stressed that proactive action reduces risks and ensures public safety. Ultimately, the arrest of Iran mercenaries highlights Tehran’s commitment to national defense. Officials remain alert, signaling that the fight against terrorism and foreign interference will continue. arrests send a clear message: Iran will actively neutralize threats and protect its citizens against mercenary plots.
