Iran’s gas supply to power plants has reached impressive levels, ensuring energy stability across the country. Daily deliveries have exceeded 170 million cubic meters over the past three days. Saeed Tavakoli, head of the National Iranian Gas Company, noted that this increase demonstrates the sector’s ability to meet growing seasonal needs. Since the start of the year, power plants have received a total of three billion cubic meters of gas. Tavakoli pointed out that current conditions are better than last year. Deliveries, which totaled 880 million cubic meters per day last year, have slightly increased to 882 million cubic meters this year.
He urged citizens to manage their energy consumption carefully. The request comes as cold weather blankets the country, driving household and business energy demand. In winter, households and commercial establishments consume more fuel for heating, while power plants dominate gas use in the warmer months. The increase ensures that power plants operate without interruptions. Tavakoli explained that this was achieved through careful scheduling and efficient distribution. As a result, energy production has remained stable even during peak demand periods.
Officials highlight that these improvements demonstrate the gas sector’s resilience and preparedness. During spring and summer, gas-fired power plants operated at full capacity without shortages. The current supply surge reflects careful planning and timely resource allocation. Looking ahead, Tavakoli emphasized the importance of public cooperation in managing consumption. Citizens are encouraged to adopt energy-saving practices to prevent potential pressure on the system during extreme cold. By maintaining strong deliveries, Iran secures energy reliability for industries, businesses, and households alike. The government’s efforts show progress in infrastructure management and underscore the strategic importance of gas supply in national energy planning.
