Iran’s steel industry faced a serious blow after Mobarakeh Steel Company reported a second attack by US and Israeli forces. The strike targeted critical sections of the company late Tuesday at 23:00 local time. Consequently, officials stated the assault caused significant damage to key infrastructure. The attack also affected Sefid Dasht Steel Company, a subsidiary in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. However, due to safety protocols after last Thursday’s strike, only a small number of employees were present.

As a result, only a few workers suffered minor injuries. Mobarakeh Steel Company plays a central role in Iran’s steel industry. It is the country’s largest steel producer and one of the largest industrial complexes in West Asia and North Africa. Moreover, analysts warn that the attack could disrupt production and impact regional supply chains. Additionally, this assault follows a recent strike on Khuzestan Steel Company on Friday, which damaged parts of its facilities.

Meanwhile, these consecutive attacks have raised concerns about the security of Iran’s key industrial sectors. Iran’s Human Rights Organization condemned the attacks, describing them as systematic strikes on civilian infrastructure. Furthermore, the organization stated these actions violate international law and aim to harm civilians economically. Factories, especially steel plants, sustain millions of livelihoods in Iran. Therefore, the statement urged the international community to respond to these violations.

Iranian officials asserted their right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. They emphasized retaliatory measures, including missile and drone strikes on US bases in the region and Israeli-occupied territories. Officials argued these actions constitute legitimate self-defense. Experts note that targeting industrial facilities could disrupt Iran’s economy. Additionally, steel industry output is crucial for domestic infrastructure and regional construction projects. Consequently, analysts warn that continued attacks may increase steel prices and slow economic growth. Looking ahead, authorities are expected to reinforce security around major industrial complexes.

Companies are also reviewing emergency protocols to protect employees and minimize production losses. Moreover, observers suggest international mediation could help de-escalate tensions and ensure regional stability. The steel industry remains a cornerstone of Iran’s economy. Therefore, any disruption affects jobs, exports, and domestic supply chains. Officials continue monitoring the situation while emphasizing the protection of critical infrastructure.
