Iran’s U17 women’s national football team will begin its campaign in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers. The team will compete in Group C alongside Chinese Taipei, Laos, and Cambodia.

Laos will host all Group C matches, giving the host nation an important home advantage. However, Iran will aim to overcome that challenge and secure positive results throughout the qualifying campaign.

The Iranian youngsters will open their campaign against Laos on October 5. The match will provide the first test for the squad after its preparation period.

Three days later, Iran will face Cambodia in its second group match. The team will then complete its group-stage schedule against Chinese Taipei on October 11.

The results from these matches will determine Iran’s position within Group C. Therefore, every game will carry significant importance for the team’s qualification hopes.

Iran’s coaching staff will organize several training camps before the qualifiers. These camps will focus on improving tactical organization, physical fitness, teamwork, and individual performances.

The preparation period will also allow coaches to evaluate players before selecting the final squad. In addition, training sessions can help the team develop stronger coordination before facing its regional opponents.

Iran will need to adapt to different playing styles during the group stage. Consequently, tactical flexibility and defensive organization could prove important across the three matches.

The qualifying campaign also offers valuable international experience for Iran’s young players. Moreover, competitive matches can help develop players who may later contribute to Iran’s senior women’s national team.

The coaching staff will therefore seek a balance between immediate results and long-term player development. Strong performances could also strengthen confidence within Iran’s youth women’s football program.

As October approaches, preparations will become increasingly important for the Iranian squad. Iran will hope its training camps produce a competitive team capable of reaching the continental tournament.
