Iranian technology firms will showcase advanced domestic innovations at the upcoming InnoWeek 2026 exhibition in Tashkent. The International Week of Innovative Ideas will run from October 27 through October 29 in Uzbekistan. Organizers under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation designed the major regional event. Consequently, the high-profile gathering connects Iranian entrepreneurs directly with foreign investors, scientific researchers, and government representatives.
Operating under the theme “Advanced Innovations for a Changing World,” the event highlights key emerging economic sectors. Specifically, the multi-day international program focuses on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, biotechnology, and advanced biomedicine. Additionally, participating Iranian delegates will feature commercial solutions across green energy, pharmaceuticals, and industrial manufacturing. Thus, domestic technology companies can effectively establish commercial partnerships and explore foreign trade expansion opportunities.
Bilateral scientific relations between Tehran and Tashkent continue expanding steadily through structured joint research initiatives. The Iran National Science Foundation recently launched its second competitive research call alongside Uzbek partner agencies. This collaborative effort funds ten strategic projects covering environmental protection, water conservation, and agricultural development. Furthermore, selected joint research programs can receive substantial state funding grants of up to forty billion rials.
These commercial and scientific activities build upon earlier high-level diplomatic engagements between the two nations. Iranian Science Minister Hossein Simaei-Sarraf met Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a UNESCO conference in Samarkand. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding bilateral academic exchange and technological cooperation moving forward. Therefore, Iranian participation at InnoWeek 2026 reinforces ongoing diplomatic efforts to deepen regional science diplomacy.
