Iranian student delegations have achieved major academic success across several international scientific competitions in recent months. Consequently, young scholars secured numerous medals and won a prestigious global physics team championship.
Young Scholars Club head Seyyed Reza Hosseini confirmed that Iranian students participated in 12 major scientific events. Furthermore, the national team secured first place overall at the 56th International Physics Olympiad in Colombia.
Team members Hirbod Foudazi, Kian Zarrabian, and Mohammad Mirmohammadi each won gold medals for Iran. Additionally, teammates Amir-Sam Goharpey and Nima Koushki earned silver medals to complete the championship-winning performance.
Iranian computer science students also excelled at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence in Astana, Kazakhstan. Specifically, contestant Shayan Rezaeizadeh secured a historic gold medal despite severe cyber disruptions affecting national data centers.
Meanwhile, Mohammad-Reza Darvishi, Mohammad-Amin Nazmfar, and Mani Monjipor added two silver medals and one bronze. Consequently, their performances demonstrated the resilience and determination of Iran’s young researchers on the international stage.
At the International Mathematical Olympiad in Shanghai, Iranian students won two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Contestants Alireza Joonbakhsh-Najafabadi and Alireza Sharifi claimed gold medals after rigorous testing against international competitors.
Female Iranian scholars also achieved notable recognition at the International Geography Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey. Furthermore, Iran’s national team collected eight medals and a top prize at the International Earth Science Olympiad.
Iranian delegations also earned distinctions at international competitions covering economics, informatics, biology, chemistry, and geography. Together, these results highlight the broad academic capabilities of Iran’s emerging scientific talent.
