Iranian women played a central role in developing the new Sayad-4 electronic warfare system. Consequently, the system can disrupt enemy navigation and positioning systems. Therefore, it represents a major technological achievement led entirely by female scientists in Iran’s defense ministry. The unveiling occurred at a national exhibition, where a replica of Sayad-4 was displayed due to security restrictions. Moreover, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the Iranian defense minister, visited the exhibition and praised Iranian women for their contributions. He emphasized that women actively participate in complex defense projects and hold top positions in military research.

Sayad-4 is an advanced electronic warfare system. In addition, it can interfere with enemy radar and communication networks. Officials stated that the system strengthens Iran’s air defense and enhances border security. Its development highlights Iran’s focus on combining advanced technology with domestic expertise. The project also reflects Iran’s effort to increase female participation in science and technology. For instance, Iranian women have led research teams in missile systems, radar technology, and cyber defense. Their work demonstrates the growing role of women in areas traditionally dominated by men.

The announcement coincided with National Mother’s Day in Iran, observed on Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra’s birthday. Therefore, officials used the occasion to honor women’s contributions in science and society. They highlighted the achievements of Iranian women both in families and in the workforce. Experts suggest that female-led projects may encourage further investment in women’s technical training. Furthermore, this focus signals Iran’s commitment to developing defense technologies without foreign dependence.

Authorities plan to continue advancing the Sayad series of electronic warfare systems. They aim to refine the technology while expanding the role of Iranian women in leadership positions. Consequently, this could set a precedent for broader gender inclusion in national security projects. By highlighting Iranian women in defense, Iran promotes both technological self-reliance and social inclusion. Overall, the Sayad-4 project shows how female scientists can drive innovation with strategic impact.
