Iranian resistance fighters have drawn significant attention after responding decisively to US and Israeli aggression. Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, praised the resistance fighters for delivering a “regret-inducing” response to the enemies of Iran. His remarks came just one day after a temporary ceasefire was announced.
Qa’ani highlighted that the resistance fighters acted with vigilance and courage, making strategic decisions that inflicted serious setbacks on adversaries. He commended their efforts as exemplary, emphasizing their role in protecting Iran and regional allies.
The conflict began on February 28, when U.S. airstrikes targeted Iranian officials and commanders. In retaliation, Iran launched frequent missile and drone operations, striking locations across Israeli-occupied territories and US military bases in the region. Resistance movements in Lebanon and Yemen joined the operations in solidarity, amplifying the pressure on adversaries.
Recently, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire agreement. The agreement followed the U.S. acceptance of Iran’s 10-point proposal, which included halting hostilities in Lebanon. However, Israel breached the agreement by conducting its largest military attack against Lebanon in recent weeks. The assault resulted in at least 254 deaths and more than 1,165 injuries, according to Iranian sources.
Qa’ani also addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labeling him a “criminal and child-killer” and accusing him of attempting to demonstrate fierceness beyond the U.S. He reminded the world that the history of the Zionist regime is marked by numerous crimes against humanity. Qa’ani warned that the enemies of Iran should expect severe consequences for their actions.
Experts note that the resistance fighters’ continued operations could influence broader regional dynamics. Their ability to coordinate with allied groups in Lebanon and Yemen underscores a strategic shift in Iran’s approach to regional security. Observers suggest that the resistance fighters’ actions serve both military and political purposes, signaling Iran’s commitment to defending its interests.
Analysts expect tensions to remain high. Although the ceasefire temporarily reduces direct conflict, violations could prompt further retaliation. Qa’ani’s statements indicate that Iran intends to maintain pressure on adversaries while coordinating with allied resistance groups. The role of resistance fighters remains central in shaping Iran’s security strategy and regional influence.
