Iran’s Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani Says U.S. and Israel Will Retreat From West Asia Empty-Handed

Iran’s top overseas commander predicts a West Asia retreat. Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani leads the Quds Force. He spoke late Sunday about this West Asia retreat. Therefore, tensions across the region remain high.

The unified Resistance Front has a powerful presence everywhere, Qaani stated. He added that this front waits for its enemies. For example, he reminded Washington and Tel Aviv of past exits. Those exits happened in Yemen, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Red Sea. Consequently, he believes history will repeat itself.

The general’s warning follows intense fighting. On February 28, the U.S. and Israel began a large attack. They killed Iran’s top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. They also killed several senior commanders. The strikes hit military sites and civilian buildings. As a result, many people died. Moreover, the damage to infrastructure spread widely.

Iran quickly answered those attacks. Its armed forces launched waves of missiles and drones. They targeted U.S. interests across West Asia. They also hit Israeli positions in occupied lands. Thus, this response shows Iran’s military reach. In addition, it demonstrates their willingness to retaliate.

Diplomacy failed to stop the escalation. On Saturday, Iranian and American officials held indirect talks. Those negotiations took place in Islamabad, Pakistan. They lasted approximately 21 hours. The U.S. side made excessive demands, according to Iranian reports. Meanwhile, the Iranian team offered several new ideas. Nevertheless, the Americans blocked any progress.

Disagreements included the Strait of Hormuz and nuclear rights. No side announced a next round of talks. Furthermore, no date or place exists for future meetings. Therefore, this diplomatic deadlock raises tensions further.

Qaani’s statement fits a pattern of Iranian warnings. He claims the U.S. and Israel fled Yemen’s conflict. He says they also retreated from the Red Sea shipping lane. Now he predicts a full West Asia retreat. As a result, many analysts watch these claims closely.

The war has no quick end in sight. Both sides continue military operations. Civilian casualties rise on multiple fronts. Infrastructure damage affects daily life in Iran. Consequently, international observers worry about a wider conflict.

Military experts say the Red Sea and Hormuz remain flashpoints. These chokepoints handle much of the world’s oil. Any disruption could raise global energy prices. For instance, businesses already face higher shipping insurance costs. Thus, the economic stakes remain very high.

Political analysts note the failed Pakistan talks. They say U.S. demands likely included curbs on Iran’s missile program. However, Iran rejects those limits. Meanwhile, Israel keeps its military posture high. Therefore, no side shows signs of backing down.

The future looks very uncertain. Qaani’s predicted West Asia retreat may or may not happen. Nevertheless, his words rally domestic support inside Iran. They also signal defiance to foreign powers. For now, no negotiations resume. Consequently, the entire region waits for the next move.
