Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, warned U.S. President Donald Trump against threatening Iran. He emphasized the nation’s resilience and rejected all attempts at domination. Speaking on Tuesday in Tabriz, he addressed thousands of citizens from various segments of society in East Azerbaijan province. Moreover, the gathering marked the anniversary of the 1978 uprising.

“They say our military is the strongest in the world. However, even the strongest military can receive a blow it cannot recover from,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. He made these remarks in response to Trump’s repeated statements about U.S. military power and threats toward Iran.

Furthermore, he addressed Trump’s warnings about sending warships to the region. He said such ships are dangerous, but weapons capable of destroying them are far more threatening. “What is more dangerous than the warship is the weapon that can sink it to the bottom of the sea,” he added, highlighting Iran’s defensive capabilities.

In addition, the Leader highlighted Trump’s own admission about the U.S. failure in Iran. “For 47 years, America has not been able to eliminate the Islamic Republic. This is a good admission. I say: you will not be able to do this either,” he said. Thus, he underlined that Iran has remained strong and independent despite decades of pressure from the United States.

He also criticized U.S. efforts to dominate Iran, citing the country’s rich history and religious teachings. “The Iranian nation knows its Islamic and Shiite lessons well. Therefore, it knows what to do. Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon him) said, ‘Someone like me will not pledge allegiance to someone like Yazid.’ Consequently, a nation like ours, with this culture, history, and these lofty teachings, will not pledge allegiance to corrupt individuals like those in power in America,” he stated.

The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States. Both sides continue to exchange statements about military readiness, regional influence, and sanctions. Analysts say Ayatollah Khamenei’s speech sends a clear message to Washington.

In other words, Iran will defend its sovereignty and will not be intimidated by threats or military posturing. Finally, his comments reaffirm the country’s firm stance on maintaining independence. They also highlight the resilience of the Iranian nation and its commitment to historical, cultural, and religious values.
