Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Iranian official Qadir Nizamipour during a major international summit in India on Monday. The high-level encounter took place on the sidelines of the BRICS National Security Advisors meeting held in New Delhi. During the talks, the Chinese government strongly reasserted its commitment to protecting the national sovereignty of Iran. Beijing also endorsed the ongoing efforts by Tehran to expand its diplomatic relations with neighboring Gulf nations. This geopolitical alignment marks a critical development for those working toward establishing long-term Middle East peace.

The discussion focused heavily on the newly drafted diplomatic agreement between the United States and the Iranian government. Negotiators recently signed a comprehensive fourteen-point Memorandum of Understanding in Switzerland to bring an end to active hostilities. Diplomatic mediators from Pakistan and Qatar successfully facilitated these critical discussions to stabilize the highly volatile western Asia region. Wang Yi praised the core provisions of the breakthrough agreement for reflecting international law and United Nations principles. He noted that the accord embodies equality and respects the territorial integrity of all the participating sovereign states.

The successful implementation of this new bilateral framework represents a vital step toward securing sustainable Middle East peace. The initial round of direct discussions between the senior American and Iranian delegations concluded successfully over the weekend. Despite an opening session filled with tense rhetoric and military threats from Washington, both sides found common ground. The two nations officially agreed on a comprehensive roadmap designed to yield a final agreement within sixty days. Meanwhile, technical experts will continue lower-level talks throughout the week to resolve specific operational details of the pact.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the establishment of a special high-level oversight committee to guide future negotiations. Iranian officials expressed strong gratitude for the constructive role that Beijing continues to play in reducing regional tensions. Nizamipour emphasized that deep strategic cooperation with China remains a top foreign policy priority for the Iranian administration. The Chinese delegation promised to continue offering assistance to ensure that the initial phase of the agreement succeeds. Ultimately, global leaders hope that these coordinated diplomatic steps will finally build a foundation for permanent Middle East peace.
