Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has strongly rejected recent claims made by the U.S president, calling them baseless. Speaking to officials in Mazandaran province, Pezeshkian defended Iran’s security forces and highlighted the country’s long history of facing terrorism, violence, and hostile foreign propaganda. The U.S. president recently claimed that Iran was responsible for the deaths of 32,000 people. Pezeshkian said this number was not accurate. He explained that Iran has publicly released casualty lists, including national ID numbers, to show the true figures. According to him, more than 2,000 members of Iran’s security and armed forces have lost their lives while defending the nation and its citizens.
Pezeshkian also addressed recent riots in the country, stating that over 350 mosques and 300 schools were set on fire during the unrest. He described these acts as terrorism rather than protests, emphasizing that violence against public property cannot be justified. The president further noted that adversaries try to harm the country by targeting scientists and skilled personnel in an effort to weaken Iran. However, he stressed that national unity and cooperation prevent such attempts from succeeding. He said that strong solidarity among the people and authorities is key to protecting the country from internal and external threats.
Concluding his remarks, Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of unity, justice, and shared national values. He said these principles are essential for overcoming challenges, resisting outside pressure, and supporting sustainable development. He encouraged citizens and officials to continue working together to build a secure and prosperous future for the country. Pezeshkian’s response comes amid growing international attention on Iran’s internal affairs and foreign relations. By rejecting the US president’s accusations and defending Iran’s record, he aimed to reassure the public and highlight the resilience of the nation in the face of challenges.
