Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered the rapid reconstruction of damaged transport infrastructure after reviewing the impact of recent U.S. military strikes. He also described the attacks on transport facilities as war crimes and directed officials to pursue international legal action while strengthening Iran’s logistics network.
During a visit to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Pezeshkian received updates on border terminals, ports, highways, railways, airports, and maritime transport. Officials also reviewed the supply, unloading, clearance, and distribution of essential goods across the country.
Roads and Urban Development Minister Farzaneh Sadegh presented a detailed report on damage affecting bridges, railway lines, ports, logistics centers, and other strategic transport infrastructure. The assessment highlighted challenges facing freight movement and regional connectivity following the recent strikes.
Following the briefing, Pezeshkian instructed government agencies to speed up reconstruction projects and restore damaged facilities without delay. Furthermore, he ordered authorities to activate alternative transport routes, improve network resilience, and ensure uninterrupted public services and commercial operations.
The president also stressed that expanding transport cooperation with neighboring countries remains a strategic priority. He said stronger rail connections could boost economic resilience, increase regional trade, strengthen international transit corridors, and expand Iran’s geopolitical role.
Pezeshkian called for rebuilding damaged terminals according to international standards. He urged officials to modernize warehousing, logistics, cargo handling, and smart management systems while adopting advanced technologies throughout the transport sector.
