Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed U.S. involvement in unrest in Iran. Moreover, he said U.S. involvement shaped demonstrations and violent actions across the country. In a recent interview, Pompeo explained that Washington provided help to groups opposing the Iranian government. In addition, he said, “Help did come, lots of help.” Some efforts, he added, remain unseen.

Pompeo highlighted covert activity in Tehran, Mashhad, and Zahedan. Furthermore, he claimed foreign agents were on the ground to influence events. His comments reflect long-standing U.S. policies. The former official praised the Mujahedin-e Khalq organization in public appearances. Consequently, he encouraged activities that challenge Iran’s leadership. Analysts note this aligns with broader U.S. strategies.

Iranian leaders condemned Pompeo’s statements. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei accused foreign powers of provoking unrest. He warned that outside interference would fail. Officials described the events as planned efforts to destabilize the country. Reports indicate that violence linked to protests caused thousands of deaths. In fact, authorities said the unrest was carefully orchestrated using foreign support. U.S. involvement, they argued, aimed to weaken Iran through hybrid tactics.

International observers criticized foreign interference in internal matters. As a result, they said actions encouraging riots undermine diplomacy and increase tensions. Pompeo’s admission sparked debate over foreign intervention ethics. Despite tensions, U.S. officials defend covert operations as a tool to support movements.

Therefore, Pompeo’s statements confirm that the United States continues to influence events in Iran. U.S. involvement remains a key focus for analysts. The disclosure highlights Iran’s complex security situation. Meanwhile, analysts say foreign influence, local dissent, and strategic interests all intersect. Consequently, U.S. involvement will remain central in global debates.
