Iranian Wrestlers Dominate 2026 Asian Greco-Roman Championship with Five Gold and Three Silver Medals

Iranian wrestlers claimed a remarkable victory at the 2026 Asian Wrestling Championship, securing first place in the Greco-Roman category. The Iranian team, led by coach Hassan Rangraz, accumulated 201 points, outperforming competitors from Uzbekistan and Japan. This victory not only highlights the team’s strength but also reinforces Iran’s reputation in regional wrestling competitions.

The championship took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together top wrestling talent from across Asia. Gold medals went to Saeid Esmaeili in the 67kg division, Danial Sohrabi in 72kg, Mohammad Naghoosi in 82kg, Mohammadhadi Saravi in 97kg, and Fardin Hedayati in 130kg. Each athlete displayed exceptional technique, which significantly contributed to the team’s overall points tally. Furthermore, these victories underscore the Iranian wrestlers’ ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes competitions.

Silver medals were earned by Mohammadmehdi Keshtkar in 63kg, Alireza Abdevali in 77kg, and Yasin Yazdi in 87kg. Their performances reinforced Iran’s position at the top of the medal standings and highlighted the team’s depth across weight classes.

According to coach Hassan Rangraz, the team’s success reflects careful preparation and strategic planning.
