The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Wednesday that Iranian armed forces remain fully prepared to neutralize armed anti-revolutionary groups seeking to enter the country. IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi issued the warning during an exclusive press interview. The military leadership emphasized that preventing foreign-backed insurgent groups from crossing Iran’s borders remains a top national security priority.
According to General Mohebbi, Iranian defense intelligence closely monitors foreign plots aimed at disrupting domestic stability. He specifically referred to public statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding military assistance to regional separatist organizations. Iranian military authorities allege that Washington is actively supplying weapons to these anti-revolutionary factions in an effort to undermine the central government.
The spokesman reiterated that the Revolutionary Guard will act decisively against any organized attempt to incite civil unrest. Armed forces units maintain heightened vigilance along sensitive border areas to detect and dismantle hostile elements attempting to infiltrate the country. Consequently, military officials stressed that foreign political support will not provide armed groups with safe passage into Iranian territory.
Addressing wider regional security dynamics, General Mohebbi commented on the newly established Mecca Defense Pact involving Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. Iranian defense analysts view the tripartite agreement primarily as a strategic framework aimed at reducing Western military influence in the Middle East. Therefore, Tehran officially welcomes measures that could limit foreign military footprints in the region.
General Mohebbi concluded that the Islamic Republic does not consider the strategic pact signed by neighboring states an immediate threat. Rather, Iranian military strategists interpret the alliance as a collective regional response to direct American troop deployments. Moving forward, the Revolutionary Guard plans to maintain a strong defensive posture while continuously monitoring developments along the country’s borders.
