The Unraveller Persian translation has officially debuted in the Iranian book market to provide local youths access to global literature. Ofoq Books recently published the massive 598-page fantasy novel for eager young adult readers across Iran. Noted translator Peyman Esmaeilian meticulously translated the text into Persian to preserve the original dark atmosphere. This major release represents the tenth official full-length novel from celebrated British children’s author Frances Hardinge.

Macmillan Children’s Books originally published the highly anticipated fantasy book in the United Kingdom in 2022. The complex narrative explores a unique world where ordinary people can generate devastating, life-destroying curses. Fortunately, a single unique individual named Kellen possesses the rare magical power to dismantle these dangerous hexes. Kellen actively helps maliciously transformed victims, including his closest companion and reliable ally named Nettle. Nettle previously suffered from entrapment in a bird form before Kellen successfully broke her curse. However, Kellen also carries a secret curse that threatens to destroy everyone around him very soon. Therefore, the duo must quickly remove this affliction before Kellen accidentally unravels his entire world.

Literary experts view this specific Unraveller Persian translation as a major addition to the domestic market. Author Frances Hardinge previously won the prestigious 2015 Costa Book Award for her masterpiece The Lie Tree. Only Philip Pullman had achieved that specific literary milestone previously in the children’s book category in 2001. Hardinge also won the Branford Boase Award back in 2006 for her brilliant debut novel. Her unique childhood in an old, isolated house directly inspired these deeply atmospheric, magical stories.

Domestic publishers expect high sales because fantasy literature currently enjoys immense popularity among Iranian teenagers. Ofoq Books will distribute the novel nationwide through major physical bookstores and digital platforms this week. This publication highlights a growing trend of rapid translation of contemporary western young adult fiction. Cultural analysts state that these high-quality translations successfully bridge cultural gaps between international authors and Iranian youth. Looking forward, Ofoq Books plans to translate more award-winning international fiction to satisfy local consumer demand.
