The Gilan Agrofood Exhibition will open on November 19 in Rasht, running alongside the Caspian littoral governors’ summit. Officials say the event will strengthen Gilan’s role as a rising agro-food export hub for the Caspian and Eurasian markets.
The four-day exhibition, ending on November 22, will display agricultural products, processed foods, beverages, and packaging solutions. It will also present renewable-energy powered production, food technology, and tourism-related initiatives. These sectors reflect Gilan’s ambition to connect agriculture, technology, and sustainable development.
According to the head of Gilan’s Agricultural Organization, the fair aims to boost exports and attract investors. He noted that the event will link local producers directly with buyers to reduce intermediaries and improve market efficiency. In his view, shorter supply chains can raise farmers’ income and create stronger regional partnerships.
Moreover, organizers will emphasize Gilan’s strong logistics infrastructure. The province enjoys an interconnected system of rail, road, sea, and air transport. The Anzali Free Zone, located near the Caspian Sea, serves as a vital commercial link to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Experts believe Gilan plays a central role in advancing Iran-Russia trade cooperation. In recent years, the province has increased exports of rice, tea, fish, and citrus products. Consequently, it has emerged as a leader in Iran’s northern agricultural trade network.
The Gilan Agrofood Exhibition will feature booths for fresh and dried produce, medicinal herbs, honey, dairy, and halal protein products. In addition, exhibitors will showcase packaging machines, processing equipment, and logistics solutions that enhance value chain efficiency.
