Tehran-Baku Ties Strengthen as Leaders Seek Deeper Cooperation

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Monday to discuss ways to expand Tehran-Baku ties. Araghchi traveled to Baku to meet senior Azerbaijani officials and hold talks with President Aliyev. During the meeting, the leaders focused on improving bilateral relations in politics, trade, and cultural cooperation. They also reviewed regional developments that affect both nations.

In addition, Araghchi conveyed warm greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to President Aliyev. He highlighted the long historical and cultural connections that link Iran and Azerbaijan. Moreover, he said these connections provide a strong foundation for future collaboration. Araghchi stressed that Iran wants to strengthen Tehran-Baku ties in all areas that benefit both countries. Furthermore, he emphasized that continuous diplomatic dialogue helps prevent misunderstandings and resolve challenges efficiently.

The Iranian foreign minister also shared Iran’s perspectives on key regional issues. He encouraged Azerbaijan to work closely with Iran to address common challenges and explore new opportunities for cooperation. President Aliyev responded with greetings for President Pezeshkian. He called the Iranian president’s recent visit to Baku historic and said it strengthened mutual understanding between the two nations.

Aliyev praised the progress made in Tehran-Baku ties. In addition, he confirmed that Azerbaijan is ready to use all available resources to expand cooperation with Iran. He also highlighted the need to continue long-term planning for deeper collaboration. Both leaders agreed to focus on strategies that ensure sustainable growth in Tehran-Baku ties. They underlined that working together in politics, trade, and cultural programs benefits both countries. Moreover, neighborly cooperation strengthens regional stability.

The meeting showed that Iran and Azerbaijan aim to build a stable and friendly partnership for the future. Therefore, by keeping open communication, both countries hope to address challenges quickly and ensure continuous progress.
