Iran protests airspace violations after recent military operations by U.S. and Israeli forces. Tehran formally raised concerns with the United Nations over the use of territory and airspace of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. Iran’s Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani sent letters to the UN Secretary-General and Security Council. He stressed that countries hold responsibility under international law if their territory supports attacks on another state.

He demanded the Gulf states prevent future operations from their lands. Iran reported that U.S. warplanes, drones, and surveillance aircraft used Emirati airspace during March. The country protests airspace violations in Saudi Arabia, stating U.S. planes conducted bombing missions, intelligence gathering, and aerial refueling near the northern Persian Gulf and Kuwaiti border. Qatari airspace also saw a smaller number of operations.

Iran protests airspace violations in Qatar and urged the government to stop any recurrence. In Kuwait, U.S. military flights, including a B-1 bomber from the United Kingdom, transited through its airspace. Iran emphasized that these actions breached principles of good-neighborliness. Iran says it respects the sovereignty of the four countries and remains committed to regional relations. However, it reserves the right to act, including exercising self-defense, to protect its territory and political independence. Experts note that Iran’s letters highlight growing concerns in the Gulf over foreign military operations.

Allowing a country’s airspace to support attacks may carry legal and political consequences under international law. Iran requested that the UN Security Council circulate the letters as official documents. Tehran signals it monitors these activities closely and may respond if they continue. Analysts warn this issue could heighten diplomatic tensions between Iran and Gulf states.

Observers add that securing airspace has become a priority as regional conflicts escalate. Iran protests airspace violations to assert its rights under international law. Officials stress that while Iran favors peaceful neighborly relations, it will act if its territory is used for attacks. This stance may shape future regional diplomacy and security strategies.
