The Fajr International Theater Festival introduced a new section called My Iran, emphasizing national resistance. This section explores Iran’s historical struggles, including the Sacred Defense and the 12-Day War with Israel. Festival organizers also highlight the broader axis of resistance. Seyyed Vahid Fakhr Mousavi, the festival secretary, spoke at a press conference in Tehran. He said the My Iran section aims to honor Iran’s cultural and historical resilience. Street performances, stage productions, radio plays, and visual arts all reflect national resistance.

The festival follows the guidance of Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, to move events outside Tehran. Consequently, the organizers held multiple performances and the opening ceremony in Kerman province. They staged street and stage performances, organized radio plays, displayed posters and photos, and hosted research presentations and festival tributes. Local artists also participated in nine educational workshops. A total of 274 theatrical works applied for the festival. The selection committee confirmed 16 stage productions and kept four on reserve. In the street theater category, artists submitted 243 works, and the committee approved 25 for performance. The My Iran section will feature 10 street performances and 10 stage works that celebrate national resistance.

The festival also planned an International section. Organizers initially scheduled seven works from abroad. However, logistical issues prevented these groups from attending. They had reached agreements with performers, including a group from Italy, but cancellations occurred due to unforeseen problems. Festival officials emphasized that the My Iran section allows audiences to engage with Iran’s national resistance while highlighting the country’s cultural diversity. The organizers intend to inspire both local and national audiences through artistic storytelling that celebrates resilience and unity.

By combining street theater, stage performances, visual arts, and workshops, the festival creates a dynamic platform for artists. These events strengthen the message of national resistance and expand cultural participation beyond the capital. Audiences can experience a variety of works that honor Iran’s historical struggles and achievements. The Fajr Theater Festival continues to grow, balancing international aspirations with local talent. The My Iran section encourages audiences to remember past challenges and celebrate national resistance. Visitors will witness a meaningful exploration of Iran’s history, culture, and enduring spirit through engaging artistic works.
