The Iran civilian targets report has intensified debate about the humanitarian impact of the ongoing conflict. Iranian officials say thousands of civilian locations have suffered damage during the war with the United States and Israel. The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society presented the latest figures during a field visit near Tehran. He said attacks struck many non-military locations across the country. According to the report, 9,670 civilian sites have experienced damage since the start of the conflict.

Pirhossein Kolivand, leader of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, announced the figures during a Sunday inspection. He visited a fuel storage facility northwest of Tehran that suffered heavy damage during overnight airstrikes. Kolivand said flames continued burning at the facility after the attacks. Emergency crews worked to contain the fire and secure nearby areas. Several fuel transport trucks also caught fire and were destroyed.

Officials reported additional strikes across the southern and eastern districts of the capital. Several locations experienced severe destruction during the bombardment. Authorities also confirmed damage to nearby infrastructure and logistics facilities. The report included detailed statistics about affected locations. Residential areas accounted for the largest share of damaged sites, with officials recording damage to 7,943 housing units across multiple cities.

Commercial properties also faced significant losses. Authorities counted 1,617 damaged business locations, including shops, storage centers, and service facilities. Healthcare infrastructure experienced damage as well. Officials reported strikes on 32 health facilities, including hospitals and medical clinics. Education institutions also suffered losses, with 65 schools destroyed or heavily damaged.

Iranian officials strongly criticized the air campaign, arguing that strikes targeted civilian areas despite claims of military objectives. However, U.S. military officials say Iranian forces often operate in densely populated areas, complicating efforts to avoid civilian harm. Analysts warn the humanitarian situation could worsen if the conflict continues.
