Iran celebrates National Space Technology Day by showing its latest achievements in the Iran space program. Officials announced that a new satellite, satellite imagery products, and a new space base will open during the event. The Iran space program began when the country successfully launched its first domestically developed satellite, Omid. The satellite stayed in orbit for several months. This milestone marked Iran’s entry into space technology. Therefore, the anniversary of the Omid launch became National Space Technology Day.

Despite international sanctions, Iran steadily develops its space capabilities. The country now builds, tests, and launches satellites independently. Consequently, Iran ranks among the few countries with full control over satellite technology. Space technology helps with disaster management, environmental monitoring, and daily life applications. For this reason, many countries treat space programs as strategic and economic priorities. Iran continues to advance its program for these benefits.

Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iran Space Agency, said the unveiling will include the main prototype of the “Martyr Soleimani” satellite constellation. He added that Iran will conduct satellite launches using domestic vehicles, including launches from the Chabahar space facility. Salarieh emphasized that engineers test every satellite carefully. They check compatibility with launch vehicles, coordinate delivery procedures, and complete pre-launch evaluations. He said that precise work ensures safe and successful launches.

Preparations at the Chabahar base continue. Once all systems are ready, Iran will launch its first satellite from the site. Salarieh explained that officials rarely announce launch dates. This approach avoids rushed operations and guarantees mission success. Iran space program leaders highlighted that these projects show the country’s growing independence and technical skill. Moreover, the unveiling of the new satellite and facility proves Iran’s commitment to expanding its space capabilities. The upcoming events will attract attention at home and abroad. They demonstrate Iran’s focus on careful planning, technical expertise, and national achievement in the space sector.
