Iran confirms that Iran-US talks continue, but only through intermediaries. Tehran stresses that it does not conduct direct negotiations with Washington. However, both sides exchange messages indirectly, showing ongoing communication between the two countries. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi explained these details during a meeting with foreign media in Tehran. He said Iran has faced repeated military threats, sanctions, and sabotage, yet adversaries have failed. He also stressed that any future military action would meet a strong and painful response.

Gharibabadi described Iran’s adversaries as persistent but unsuccessful. He pointed out that past attempts, including military threats and efforts to stir unrest, have failed. Furthermore, he warned that current deployments of forces and equipment in the region will not change the outcome. Therefore, Tehran remains confident in its ability to defend the country. He clarified that Iran does not want war, yet it fully prepares to protect its people. Even limited attacks from adversaries would face decisive action. Gharibabadi emphasized that Tehran learned from past experiences and expects other countries to act responsibly.

Regarding Iran-US talks, the deputy foreign minister explained that indirect communications continue. He added that if Washington wants genuine dialogue, it must first stop threats and aggressive measures. Gharibabadi also said that no negotiations’ outcomes are predetermined. Tehran will always act to protect its national interests. He further stated that Iran remains vigilant and ready to defend itself. Even if talks become possible, the country will continue military and security preparations. Gharibabadi stressed that Tehran cannot rely on promises from countries with a history of deception.

The deputy foreign minister highlighted that Iran’s main goal is safeguarding its sovereignty. At the same time, Iran-US talks provide a communication channel, but Tehran will not compromise its security. Therefore, any aggression would face firm resistance, and indirect diplomacy will remain the primary route. Iran’s message is clear: the country seeks dialogue without war but will respond strongly to threats. Iran-US talks continue indirectly, while Tehran prioritizes full readiness to defend the nation at all times.
