Tehran Rejects U.S. Claims of Planned Attacks on American Bases

Tehran has strongly rejected claims by the United States that it is planning attacks on American military bases. Iran said the accusations reflect Washington’s attempt to escalate tensions in West Asia. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, addressed the claims, calling them part of a U.S. strategy to sow discord in the region. He emphasized that Iran will continue strengthening its military and defensive capabilities to protect national sovereignty.

The remarks followed a post by the U.S. State Department in Persian, which alleged reports of potential Iranian threats to American facilities. The department also warned that all options remain on the table, and any attack on U.S. assets would be met with “very, very strong force.” Experts say the exchange highlights ongoing U.S. tensions with Iran, as both countries signal their readiness to defend their positions. Analysts caution that rhetoric from both sides could increase instability across the region.

The current tensions build on previous unrest in Iran. Protests that began over economic grievances escalated after comments by foreign leaders appeared to encourage disorder. During the unrest, mercenary groups reportedly attacked public and security infrastructure, resulting in casualties and property damage. Iran maintains that foreign influence fueled the violent phase of the protests. Baghaei condemned external interference while reaffirming that Iran will respond decisively to any act of aggression. He stressed that preserving sovereignty and security remains a priority for Tehran’s armed forces.

The U.S. government has repeatedly hinted at potential military responses, framing such threats as support for civilians affected by the unrest. Observers warn that continued escalation could destabilize the region further and complicate diplomatic efforts. Analysts predict that U.S.-Iran tensions will remain a major focus for international policymakers. Both countries are likely to continue demonstrating military readiness while using diplomatic messaging to influence public and regional opinion.

Overall, Iran seeks to assert that defensive capabilities, sovereignty, and internal stability guide its responses. Meanwhile, Washington’s warnings and ongoing rhetoric underscore persistent U.S. tensions with Iran and highlight the fragile security environment in West Asia.
