The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters officially declared the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz for all maritime traffic. This drastic decision followed a fresh wave of United States airstrikes targeting various strategic locations inside Iranian territory. Iranian military commanders announced that security forces would target any commercial vessel or oil tanker attempting navigation.

This maritime blockade serves as a direct retaliation to recent military maneuvers by Western coalition forces. The strategic waterway handles approximately one-fifth of the total global petroleum consumption on a daily basis. Consequently, international energy markets reacted immediately with sharp price increases following the official announcement from Tehran.

The Iranian military statement explicitly denied recent American claims regarding successful naval transit through the region. Donald Trump previously asserted that a specialized military operation successfully escorted millions of barrels of oil. However, Iranian defense analysts categorized those statements as psychological warfare designed to mask Western tactical failures.

Local military experts believe the recent American bombardment aimed to establish a secure shipping corridor. Western strategists wanted to guarantee safe passage for energy supplies despite persistent regional security threats. However, the total shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz effectively neutralizes those specific operational objectives.

The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran now centers primarily on this vital choke point. International shipping companies are currently rerouting their fleets around the African continent to avoid the danger zone. This detour adds significant transit time and dramatically increases operational costs for global supply chains.

Diplomats from multiple nations are urgently calling for immediate de-escalation to prevent a broader conflict. Energy analysts predict prolonged closures of the Strait of Hormuz will trigger a severe global economic recession. Meanwhile, both military forces maintain high readiness levels as regional tensions reach unprecedented heights.
